Who am I? just a child of God like you
Ke ami? Bhagabaner santan, tomari moto.
Your very own, I too worship the same God
tomari aami, eki debatar pujarini
Only in some other form, and just like you
hoyto moortigulo alada, aar tomari moto
I too pray for food, shelter and clothe for all,
aamio chai taar kachhe sabar mangal!
What do I love? In this beautiful world?
Ki bhalobasi aami?
Let me think, the smile on a baby’s face
Dekhi ektu bhebe! shishur haasi,
Flowers, gardens, sky, clouds and butterflies
phool, prajapati, neel akash, megh aaro kataki!
Music, love, friends, any thing with beauty.
gan aar chhabi, bandhu aar bhalobasha, sakal sundar shrishti.
My religion? To love every harmless soul
amar dharma? bhalobasa- sakal sundar hridayke,
Feel compassion for every living being
anukampa sakal jiboner janye
Never play God even when I am wronged
mone rakha sarbada bichar bhagabaner day!
Never to hit back unless pushed in corner.
Jekhane asi na tulle cholbe sekhane na tola.
What do I hope? A permanent place in your heart
amar aasha? tomar bhalobasa.
An entire life of friendship with you
sara jiboner jonye.
We will fly together forever, in the blue skies
ek saathe amra hantbo, hathe haath rekhe jibon pathe
Full of love, peace and harmony everlasting
bhore nebo jibonke bhalobasay.
